I remember playing a variant of L5R along the lines of the following:-Based on the 4/5 format, your dynasty deck has 4 cards, your fate deck has 5 cards.But you don't actually build your decks before the game, and you don't actually have any cards on the table.When you would "reveal" a card (reveal a stronghold, turn over a dynasty card, or play a fate card), you instead name any card from any set and reveal/play that card.You were not allowed to reveal a card you had already revealed (so only one copy of "Fall on your Knees!" or "Avoid Fate" each...)You were not allowed to refer to any reference material, except after a card was named you were allowed to look up its text if there was a dispute.It was good for playing while walking places, on a train/bus, in a pub, or anywhere you wanted to have a laugh with some l5r but for whatever reason couldn't put cards down.Does anyone remember this? Was this unique to my playgroup.
