The Karmic Wheel has continued to turn over the last 4 years. Many of us tried the LCG, but despite having the name of the game we loved, it still didn’t feel the same to us. Many of the original CCG players decided that the LCG wasn’t right for them.

In Rokugan, nothing ever stays dead, it becomes reborn anew. Today we are excited to announce a fan made project designed for those of us who still enjoy the classic L5R CCG:

L5R CCG Rebirth Edition

Goal

Our goal is to provide an experience closer to what we had with the CCG. This includes story interaction, fan interactions, and game interaction.

Fan Made

This is a fan made arc, created by fans of the original CCG. Each set will be designed by the players, tested by the players. There will be a story involved. The story will be non-canon and will also be done by the fans (with a potential former story team member involved with this). The players will interact in the story, just as they have been for 20 years the original CCG did.
Events will be run by the Fans, either in person either by print and play or via the online client Sun and Moon. Storyline tournament will shape the game once more. Kotei Season, Jeweled Championships, Nationals and Worlds will be spotlighted and (hopefully) broadcast and archived.

We hope you will join us in spreading the word, testing the sets, and we’ll see you in the courts and on the battlefield.

W kilka dni wbiło tam całkiem sporo ludzi i zaczynają się rozkminki na subkanałach poświęconych poszczególnym klanom. Ze względów licencyjnych i AEG'owego NDA, które przeszło pod FFG, niestety nie będzie możliwe użycie materiału Onyxowego. Prawdopodobnie czeka też nas zmiana template kart, żeby nie drażnić Assmodee. Trwa dyskusja na którym rulesecie się oprzeć i nie jest to proste do uzgodnienia. Szykuje się mariaż rzeczy z Twenty Festivals i Emperor Edition.

W zeszłym tygodniu kolega Aramasu dostarczył mi 100kg kart cobym kolekcję uzupełnił - siedzę i przeglądam i łezka w oku się kręci - a tu takie takie cuś nagle... Popatrzę kaprawym oczkiem ino aby jakieś szczury były.

Rzecz jest w powijakach i na etapie jak to w ogóle ugryźć. Patrząc jednak na zainteresowanie mam nadzieję, że pójdzie to dalej.

Co do myszy, to forsuję pomysł by popatrzeć na nich inaczej niż jak na swarm np. przez pryzmat name magic / memory sticks.

Gold pooling ma swoje wady i zalety. Fakt ze trzeba uwazac z holdingami placacymi za wszystko wiecej niz kosztuja ale z drugiej strony nareszcie da sie projektowac i grac holdingami o roznorakich kosztach. 20F i Onyx ma sporo holdingow o koszcie 1-4 z umiejkami i jest w czym wybierac.

Today's 'spoiler' is for the Crab Clan.  We have seen Courage already in the game, but Duty, at least in keyword form, has not been done.  The Crab take guarding the Wall from the Darkness seriously.  They feel that they have failed their ancestral duty and it makes most work that much harder to regain their honor.

Since Duty had never had a keyword designed, we had to work hard to get something we liked.  This is what we came up with:

Duty (Interrupt: If the action destroys your Personality, straighten another of your Personalities.  Give each of your opposed Personality +1F.)

Seeing their brother or sister die in glorious combat helps rally the troops to victory.

This unnamed Crab Personality has an ability to trigger Duty when needed, sending one of your troops on a final mission destroying the enemy.




Our next 'spoiler' comes from the Crane Clan.  The Crane have always been masters of the Bushido Virtue of Courtesy.  While that keyword already has meaning in the game, we tried to come up with a new way to define this within the constraints of the Crane Clan.  We came across two cards that gave me some design space to look at, Courteous Gift from Torn Asunder and The Courtesy of the Crane from Emperor Edition.  Each of these cards gave both players a benefit, with the Crane player getting the better end of the deal.

Crane help always comes with a price, even if it isn't near as bad as the Scorpion.






Tonight's spoiler comes from the awakened Naga.  One of the Naga's themes concentrates on the collective consciousness they share and the cycle of rebirth, The Akasha.

This theme will allow Naga to copy abilities, traits, and sometimes Force or Chi from another Naga Personality or Follower.  Depending on the card, the Naga can copy from in play, in discard pile, in dead pile, or even face up in a province.  This is a unique set that shows how the Naga can communicate and share strength through the Akasha.




Tonight's 'spoiler' comes from the Unicorn ranks.  The Unicorn are the most compassionate clan, as evidence by Kami Shinjo when confronted with the thought of her brother Fu Leng being evil.  She wanted to see if he could be turned from his evil path back to good.

The keyword Compassion already in the game didn't quite fit the idea we were going for.  Instead we looked at a couple of previous designs: The Compassion of the Unicorn, My Enemy's Mercy and Utaku Sakiko Experienced.

Those 3 cards allowed for the thought process on how the Unicorn show Compassion.




Tonight's Spoiler is for the Phoenix.  They have been portrayed as many things, but one that often gets overlooked is that they are Scholars.  Their libraries are vast.

With the Seals destroyed and Jigoku merged with the Mortal Realm, the Phoenix frantically search for an answer for the Seals origins and how to potential reverse what has happened.

The Knowledge theme is an Enlightenment theme first but also has the potential for honor victory as you will have to protect your Temples to complete your mission.
