Steve Horvath of FFG told Team Covenant that the L5R release at next GenCon will involve some kind of "Opening Ceremony." Might be a vague announcement, but could be something to keep an eye out for if it involves Clan participation, costumes, etc.
Adrian Burton: A year ago today it was announced L5R would be sold to Fantasy Flight. I didn't really expect it, at the time I knew L5R was going on hiatus. I'd accepted that and planned to stay on with AEG till L5R came up again. I'd even started drafting ideas for new frames for a rebooting of the game. I was crushed at the lose of my game. I had utterly lucked out and been a part of the game of my childhood in a way I could never have imagined and it was suddenly gone. I knew right away the fantastic relationship that had been cultivated over 4 years with my two main coworkers Bryan Reese and Shawn Carman would never be the same and it was a horrid day, some rough weeks and a bad few months thereafter. It was a really difficult time.So here a year later, I still feel a small sense of disbelief. I'd planned to just work on L5R till they fired my ass, I died, or the game died. I really had innocently assumed it would be one of the first two. I miss that rush of seeing the first draft of a set outline from Reese. I miss reading my L5R fictions from the great story team, I miss picking Shawns head for what I could or couldn't do. I miss working with my talented outstanding, underpaid and understanding artists. So many fantastic people made Legend of the Five Rings come together for so long. I miss it all. I miss my big spread sheets, my huge inbox of emails and my endless folders of art. I miss working with you all. I love you people and that world, it was unlike anything else I have or will do. It will always hold a place in my squishy insides. I hope all of you are happy and well, though we are apart you are part of an immense period of my life and I'm forever grateful to you.Fred Wan, Nancy Sauer, Alayna Lemmer, Drew Baker, Steve Argyle, Robert Denton, Charles Urbach,Alberto Tavira Espinar,Jessi J Cox, Amanda Nen Kilburn, Diamond Dan Dineen,

Cytat: TetsuroThere was a very brief time on the design team when we were lead to believe that we at AEG would be resurrecting L5R as an LCG before we found out it had been sold to FFG. One of the things we discussed was the likelihood that we would have only four factions instead of the normal amount, each faction representing one of the four "major powers" vying for control of Rokugan. Since it was a time jump after the conclusion of Onyx, it was basically a "War of three Emperors" situation.1) The 'Rightful Emperor' Kanpeki and those loyal to him2) An alliance basically run by Akodo Kano and Hida Toranosuke, the two champions of those Clans, with the possibility of a "Lion Heir/Son of Kaneka" angle being worked in there (probably to the chagrin of those two leaders), who were allied with the Naga, sort of the defacto "good guys" faction3) An alliance of the Unicorn, Phoenix, and Crane operating out of the Second City, probably with Shibatsu as a figurehead, mostly masterminded by Suikihime4) An unnamed fourth faction we were still fleshing out that might have appeared later. So the clans were mostly divided between one or more of these factions, with most Clans having people in more than one.I may be misremembering some of the details (we never committed any of this to documentation), but you get the jist of it.I could very easily see them doing something like that, regardless of the era they set it in.
