Czy po tym wszystkim co się wydarzyło w ostatnich latach z l5r ccg, przejęciem przez ffg, potem zamrożeniem gry (tak naprawdę nie sądzę, że lcg jest martwe, uważam, że do tego wrócą lub sprzedadzą licencję) jest jakakolwiek nadzieja, że AEG odkupi grę ponownie? Lub ktokolwiek inny? Wiem, że planszówka kolejna powstaje , komiks itd ale to uniwersum to przede wszystkim gry karciane. Jakieś info z GenConu może popłynęło w świat?

Sporo się zmieniło. FFG nie ma już praktycznie żadnego wpływu na to co się dzieje z licencją L5R. Licencją zarządza Asmodee. Tym samym erpeg poszedł do dedykowanego tego typu grom studia Edge, ale oni bardziej skupjają się na AiR (takie spłycone L5R pod dedeki) niż nad piątą edycją. FFG ma chyba wydać planszówkę ("monopoly na sterydach" - taką czytałem recenzję z konwentu). Komiksy wyda Dark Horse. Monolith ma wydać kolejną grubą grę, gdzie figurki to 90% kosztu całości. Książki płodzi Aconyte Books itd.

Licencja jest dla każdego, kto jest zainteresowany - dlatego też L5R klikacza mobilnego ma zrobić studio należące do Embracer Group (jeszcze większa ryba która połknęła Asmodee dwa lata temu). Na GenCon Asmodee North America całkowicie zlało istnienie jakiejkolwiek gry karcianej - nic nie wspomniano o niej i o żadnych planach na przyszłość.

Skoro są licencje niech ktoś rozsądny zrobi karciankę.

To też jest dziwna sprawa. David Lapp z Pinebox Ent (Ci od obecnego Doomtown Reloaded i nowej karcianki 7th Sea) próbował dwa razy uzyskać prawa do L5R i się nie udało. Ale sam twierdzi, że do trzech razy sztuka.

PS. Gra z Monolith ma być wzorowana  na ich wcześniejszym Batmanie.

Notable events:
- Oliver Vuong traveled 4,335 miles to be at GenCon.
- Kalvin Krueger enlightened twice during the 20F/Ivory tournament.
- As the Sportsmanship winner for the 20F/Ivory tournament, Sean Cullen got to pick first from the prize table and selected an Imperial booster pack that had been donated. He opened it in front of everyone and pulled and Imperial Gift. Nice!
- Dane Simpson was the only Phoenix player in any of the tournaments.
- Chris Justice and Greg Osborne made the top-4 in two different tournament formats.
- The "broken" Footholds of the Mad deck actually lost a game to Stephen Franklin playing Scorpion military. A turn 2 Shadow Dragon will do that though.
- Brandon, an Indy local, bought a 20F Lion starter minutes before the 20F/Ivory tournament started and finished in 5th place.
- Shawn Riley-Rau traveled over 700 miles to be there, got to play one game, then was called back home to take care of a work emergency. Apparently he was the only one that could fix the hydraulic corn prop used in the Broadway show that employs him.
- Edward Kim managed to survive drinking the 13 year old bottle of Green Apple soda that I was given at the Emerald Championship in 2010.
- David Hayes nearly doubled the viewing audience for our stream during his feature match. Clearly he's got the star power to make it big!
- Greg Osborne won two of the tournaments and asked that both of his selected characters be featured in the same story. That would be Togashi Nakahara and the Shadow Dragon ... have fun Fred and Shawn!
- Sean Cullen was the only person to show up in costume, so I took some pictures and the plan is for him to be featured on next year's GenCon card.

Some closing thoughts:
The Footholds of the Mad gold scheme seemed a little too good (famous bazaars, farms and renewed lands) and I would recommend that it be removed from the OBH format.
Many people in the OBH tournament were caught unaware by the Border Keep (Exp) MRP rule, and that didn't feel very good from a TO's perspective.
The GenCon folks were amazing, but the process for running events has a lot of moving parts that sometimes seem to happen in the wrong order. Guess I need to start the planning process even earlier (probably tomorrow
I learned a lot, and I'm committed to doing it at least once more next year. After that, we'll make a decision about the feasibility of continuing it as an annual event.
