Below is the exact wording of Dragon Clan beast Mr. Kama, who taught me everything I know about this game. He came out of retirement to rock this deck and smash face. We tested this WED military deck and a Kensai deck that doesn't autolose to KL/Phoenix aggro/control/blitz. The T16 kensai deck will be posted shortly. Mr. Kama classifies this as an advanced player deck-can win against the majority of the field, even aggressive blitz, but you have to play out 2-3 turns in advance on who you bow out and control vs. who you try to kill in battle.

Top 8 - WED Military Control - 3/9 Pasadena Kotei 2013


"Swiss rounds ended at 4th place with a 6-1.
Lone loss was a PHX spell blitz that I avenged (Military'd) in Top 16.
Military'd on HoF Berzerkers, ToP Henshin, DBC Tamori.
Honored on TFT Oni, SK Paragon.

The pre-TA version was really easy to meta-play against since it was mostly open-phase bow. Wasn't worth playing.
Then, post-TA it got 9x more kill & you could offensively-kill even if they defensively-straighten or you can build position and defensively-kill them.
Took out all the honor-switch cuteness and just went Aggro.

In Top8, got matched up versus the only swarm deck (TMF scouts).
Had tested this, knew it was a problem, had a meta plan, opted last minute not to run it, my fault.
I knew I needed to get warm bodies and block to keep the numbers low but I opened with a Ruya and not enough early kill.
Ended in the low 30's losing last province by 1F.
Most important, it was just a flat-out better deck & deserved to beat this out-of-theme jankery, moving on to win the Kotei.
