L5R may be on hiatus, but that isn't stopping the Invitational!

The event will have two pods for people to choose from: Modern format and 20F Arc w/Evil Portents. The top finishers in each pod will draft off to determine the ultimate winner.

The Coastal Katana Dojo Invitational 8 took place on Saturday in Vancouver and here's some of the details:

14 players were split into two pods of players between formats (Modern and 20F Arc). The top 4 of each pod then drafted together and played off for the title.

Modern Pod:
Brad Penstone - Unicorn Big Attachment Military
Aaron Frede - Dragon Dueling Military
Joe Fulgham - Dragon Monk
Kevin Ho - Scorpion DIshonour
Erik Bear - Mantis Kalani's Landing Military
Chris Braun - Spider Goblin Swarm

20F Pod:
Dale Mushinski - Crane Military
Edward Kim - Dragon Military (Dueling?)
Daniel Kawasaki - Spider Yajinden Military
Alexander Florence - Phoenix Military
Eric Florence - Crane Military
Jason Hawkes - Phoenix Military
Joe Eckstrom - Unicorn Military
Aaron (whose last name I forget) - Scorpion Kensai

Elims:
Joe Fulgham and Aaron Frede had to leave early, so the Modern Top 4 ended up being academic (I got bumped in with Aaron leaving). Brad went 3-0 to be top Modern seed.

Dale went 3-0 in the 20F bracket and was joined by Daniel, Eric, and Edward in the draft.

Dale knocked me out and eventually met Kevin Ho in the finals, with Kevin pulling off the win and becoming the Coastal Katana Dojo Champion!
